The fireworks This weekend was the Batabano parade and Friday night they had some fireworks. Me my mom and my baby brother went out to see the fireworks. We left home early in the evening to make sure we got there early enough to see the fireworks. When we reached out there, there were a lot of people all around the George Town area. We walked around for a little while greeting our friends and loved ones. I started getting hungry after all that walking, so I decided to go to Burger king to go get some food. After eating my food me and my mom chilled out in Burger King for about 15 minutes and then went back outside and proceeded to walk around. While I was walking I bucked into Timothy, then me and him started walking around looking for our friends. When we found our friends all of us walked down by paradise to see if we could find hunter. As soon as we reached by paradise the fireworks started to go off, I turned around and snapped a few pictures with my mom’s camera.

My trip to East End! When I woke up Sunday morning I couldn’t help but to notice that my neighbor was cooking some fried fish in his backyard. After smelling that great smell of fish being fried I instinctually wanted some fried fish, so I tried to convince my mom to go buy some fried fish. After finally getting her to agree she stated that she just didn’t want fish from anywhere, she wanted fish from all the way in East End. We stopped in Bodden town to pick up one of my mom’s friend as she wanted to tag along, she finished getting ready and headed out to get out fish. At around 2:00 we reached up to east end at got our fish. I didn’t want to go back home right away so I told my mom and her friend lets go across the, Wreck Of The Ten Sails. We stopped there and chilled out for a little while, then we ate our food and decided to do a little exploring . I took a walk around and looked at the place up there has a beautiful view of ocean and most of the shore line.

Hidden Figures!! So yesterday my classmates and I went to the movies to watch a new movie that just came out named Hidden Figures. At first the movie was kind of boring but then after about 45 minutes into the movie we started to see how 3 black women made history. It was a good movie because it showed how racism divided people back in those days. Everyone was basically divided into 2 groups which were blacks and whites. The movie showed us how 3 intelligent women who no one had faith in but did something incredible. They were treated different because of their skin color. They had to use different bathrooms different busses and even different coffee making machines. Everyone disliked the black women but they proved themselves to everyone. One of the women was named Mae Jemison she is an American engineer, physician and NASA astronaut. She became the first African-American woman to travel into space when she to space into orbit on the Endeavour space shuttle on September 12, 1992. Another one of the 3 ladies is Katherine Johnson , Katherine Johnson was a mathematician and computer scientist who was born on August26,1918 she was one of the first black women working in that section of NASA.

Why writing blogs are bad!!  I don’t know what our teacher sees in making us write blogs but to me it is just torture, I think it is torture to the whole class. When we first started writing blogs it was all fun in games. It was all fun and games till we started running out of ideas to write about. At first it was very easy because when it came to writing a blog, ideas were flowing left right and center. After a while ideas start to run out. When we first started our blogs everyone in the class thought they were William Shakespeare then again ideas ran out “I bet you guys think your Shakespeare now”. Blogs are getting so annoying people are asking their mothers to do them, with that being said I think our teacher should stop giving us blogs every week and start making us turn them in at least every 2 weeks or something. I’m going to burst my brain trying to think of ideas to write about every Sunday night, and it’s not like you just don’t have to them because if you don’t do it at home you will have to do it in the hub so no matter what you just don’t win with blogs cause you will always have to write one.

So this year Christmas was probably the first Christmas that I didn’t feel the vibe or expected any Christmas gifts. I woke up early Christmas morning like I was getting up and going to school. I got up and ate some breakfast and got ready to hit the road to go riding with all my friends. I went outside headed to the gas station and filled a tank with gas I went home filled the bike and went down by my cousin’s house to meet up with all the other riders. I was so excited to go riding that I was the first one to arrive by my cousin’s house. Since there was nothing to do at the time I decided to take a ride by myself till everyone came. I went around West Bay a couple times by myself, I ran into the police one time but they didn’t mess with me, I guess they decided to just leave me alone seeing that is was Christmas. I went back to my cousin’s house after a while and everyone was there. We all got together and got ready to go riding to town to meet up with all the other riders, we headed out and reached where were going quickly, it turned out to be a good day and everyone had fun.

Trip to East End I was in the mood for a drive and thought of what to do and the idea of fried fish appeared in my mind. East End fish fry was the food I was craving and that resulted into my journey and the destination of East End. The journey started from Savannah, Newlands and it was a cool, cloudy day which is great for windows down in the car and cool journey. We passed through Bodden Town which was the First capital of Grand Cayman and has a great view of the ocean as we drive down the islands coast. The last building passed was the Lighthouse restaurant which had great food when I went once before and this brought some memories back. Driving down the long road before the turn off of North Sides entrance which is the marker for East Ends district as well once you go straight and now we are in east end and soon can have that plate of fried fish. Coming up on the famous lovers wall and seeing some tourists taking pictures of the sea and some people where trying to surf. Now we are at the fish fry and can enjoy the great view of the ocean and cool are all at the same time bring this journey to a satisfying end

Last week I went to Camana bay on a field trip with my school and some other schools to watch the shark talk with Guy Harvey himself. It was a great experience to see and learn so much about sharks that around the Cayman Islands. There are so many sharks and so many things about them that we didn’t know. Sharks are actually pretty cool animals, they all have something that makes them unique like. My favorite of all the sharks is the white tip because they just live alone in the deep blue and just kind of stick to them self’s, white tips are pretty smart animals but since they live in the deep blue ocean they not used to seeing certain things so they might get confused and eat garbage and other stuff like that. Mrs. Guy Harvey showed us videos of the white tips being itself in the deep water they also showed us a video of how they eat and videos of his guys catching and tagging them, He even showed us a video of them catching a marlin and 2 chunks getting taken out of it by a white tip shark, the shark had taken to big chunks out of the marlin (wouldn’t want that to be you ). It was a great too see all the videos and all the positive comments everyone had.
