The mutton snapper is the fish I have never shot yet. So one day I was very close to getting a shot on one. One Wednesday in June I went out spearing by west bay public beach, I was out swimming for about forty five minutes and I had already shot couples fish. I dove to the bottom to pick up a conch when I look the right and saw a mutton snapper it was about 8.lbs. I resurfaced to get more air and dove back down again. The snapper was not shy so I managed to get close enough to take a shot, I was extremely excited so I swam calmly behind the snapper. I got in the right position to take the shot and as I pulled the rod back in my sling to shot my first snapper the damn sling popped. I was angry I just left my spear sling and everything else and swam back to the shore.
